A video clip filmed during a school play in East Jerusalem has sparked outrage and criticism in Israel, showing students pointing "weapons" at other students dressed as religious Jews, blindfolded and kneeling.

The video was widely distributed on the Tik Tok application.

In the video, students perform a theatrical performance, some of them waving the Palestinian flag, while masked others direct weapons to other students dressed as religious Jews, to the effect of enthusiastic Palestinian songs in the presence of dozens of parents who were cheering and applauding.

Far-right Israeli MP Itamar Ben Gvir, in a comment on Twitter, considered that the incident constituted "specific incitement against him", arguing that the student, who was wearing traditional religious clothing, including the white kippah (hat), is supposed to represent his character.

Ben Gvir is often seen wearing a similar white kippah.

The Israeli Ministry of Education condemned the incident, stating that the school is under the full administrative control of the Palestinian Authority.
