“Mr. Gavrilov, apparently, is in the veil of his illusions and dreams about the reconquest of Crimea,” the political scientist believes.

In his opinion, statements by the Ukrainian military are made either for the sake of appearances, or "to maintain informational noise in the Western media."

“And to provide Ukraine with humanitarian and military assistance from the Western powers, primarily from the countries of the European continent,” he concluded.

Earlier, Gavrilov, in an interview with The Times, said that Kyiv was preparing to sink the Black Sea Fleet with the help of Western weapons and occupy the Crimea.

As the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov noted, such statements, which contain claims to Russian territory, “once again speak of the correctness and absolute justification of a special military operation.”
