The Board of Audit and Inspection greatly expanded the scope of the audit in relation to the murder of a public official in the West Sea two years ago.

In addition to the Ministry of National Defense and Coast Guard, we started a formal audit of nine agencies, including the Blue House National Security Office and the National Intelligence Service at the time.

There are 9 institutions where the Board of Audit and Inspection have started formal audits.

In addition to the Ministry of National Defense and the Korea Coast Guard, who announced the start of the audit, the Blue House National Security Office, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the Naval Headquarters, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Unification, and the National Intelligence Service at the time.

The intention is to look into all the institutions that have anything to do with the North Korean assassination of a public official in the West Sea.

In addition to allegations of involvement in the deletion of intelligence reports by former National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won and allegations of blocking secrets from the Ministry of National Defense, it seems that the entire process of reporting to the Blue House two years ago will be subjected to intensive audits.

To this end, the Board of Audit and Inspection sent a Special Investigation Division 1 in charge of 'public office inspection'.

As there are 9 audited institutions in total, we plan to set up a separate audit headquarters as well.

Previously, on the 16th of last month, when the Coast Guard and the Ministry of National Defense reversed their judgment of defection two years ago,

[Yoon Hyung-jin/Director of Policy Planning Division of the Ministry of National Defense (last month 16): As a result of analyzing the relevant contents once again, it was impossible to prove the voluntary defection of a missing public official…

.]

The Board of Audit and Inspection immediately began collecting basic data for both institutions.

After conducting data research for a month after that, today (19th), the scope of the audit was greatly expanded.

It is known that this large-scale audit is actually being led by Yoo Byung-ho, who has risen to power at the Board of Audit and Inspection.

As the controversy over bias arose as the Board of Audit and Inspection began one after another to conduct audits targeting the former administration, President Yoo Byung-ho is known to have ordered the employees 'to set strict standards even for the new government'.
