Heatwave red vigilance has been lifted in 15 departments on the Atlantic coast, but 73 departments remain placed on orange vigilance by Météo France.

The heat wave is moving to the north and east of the country and some cities are under severe strain.

This is the case in Paris where Parisians face the heat wave with difficulty.

Météo France has lifted the red heat wave alert on 15 departments on the Atlantic coast.

But the heat wave is not yet over since the heat wave is moving towards the north and east of the country, affecting for example Île-de-France, where Parisians and Ile-de-France residents have difficulty coping with these temperatures.

The fan, the open window...

The night was short for the Parisians.

It is obviously difficult to fall asleep in this heat.

Temperatures didn't drop much overnight.

Under these conditions, Stéphane arrived at his place of work, in his bakery, around 3 am.

"We put water in the freezer to cool the kneaders so that it doesn't get too hot. And then we adapt, we try to do the most at night because that's when it least hot," he says.

"The fan blows hot air"

To try to sleep cool, some opted for the fan, others tried to sleep with the window open.

Not really a good idea when you live in a city.

According to Mohamed, interviewed at the microphone of Europe 1, the ideal solution does not exist.

"We don't have air conditioning at home. We're in the attic, so big, big heat. The fan blows hot air, but we still try to open the window to create a little draft. Despite everything, it's still hot air. After a while, we saturate, "he says.

Heatwave: how are professionals preparing for the high heat forecast?

Fortunately, we are blowing a little bit this Tuesday morning thanks to the 25 degrees and the light wind present in the capital.

Simona took the opportunity to go for a run very early: "I got up at 4:30 a.m. to go for a run, because afterwards I'm going to go to work, and we're going to avoid the heat this evening, especially since I'm going to have to take the RER B."

Parisians are dreading the day ahead since 40 degrees should again be reached on Tuesday.

Thunderstorms are expected for next night, or for Wednesday morning.
