In addition, according to the ambassador, practically at all metallurgical enterprises, as well as transport engineering and electric power plants built in the DPRK with the assistance of the USSR, equipment produced by enterprises from the Donbass is still in operation.

Matsegora noted that the republics would be able to exchange an impressive amount of different goods.

Earlier, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea recognized the independence of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry then announced the severance of diplomatic relations and economic contacts with the DPRK. 

The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was instructed to work out specific areas of cooperation with the DPRK.
