It became known that the French soccer team Paris Saint-Germain (hereafter PSG) used the image of the Rising Sun flag in a promotional video for their Japan tour, and that the broadcaster Fabian directly contacted the club and corrected the video.

PSG posted a video titled 'PSG Japan Tour 2022' on its official YouTube channel on the 16th.

This video was a promotional video for PSG's visit to Japan.

The problem was the image of the rising sun flag inserted in the video.

The Rising Sun Flag is a military flag used by Japan during World War II and is a symbol of Japanese militarism.

However, the image of the rising sun flag in the video was deleted about two hours after the video was posted.

PSG later re-uploaded a video with the image of the rising sun flag removed.

It turns out that the move was due to the efforts of Fabian, a French broadcaster based in Korea and known as a PSG fan.

Fabian directly commented on the video, explaining the meaning of the Rising Sun Flag and requesting the video to be edited.

Afterwards, Fabian published a message in direct contact with the club on the Naver PSG fan cafe.

"Most Europeans think of the Rising Sun Flag as Japan's flag or as a flag in video games," he told PSG.

“Especially in Korea (which was under Japanese colonial rule), the meaning is considered equivalent to the Nazi Hakenkreuz pattern,” he added.

The PSG club responded, "We will delete all related videos and revise the video as soon as possible."

In addition to the conversation, Fabian said, "I apologize on behalf of those who were hurt by watching the video of the Japan tour posted earlier." "After seeing the video, I contacted the club immediately and asked them to take it down.

He added, "I hope that many French and Europeans will learn from this mistake."
