 A YouTube channel has been criticized by netizens for distributing fake news that former Japanese figure skating player Mao Asada (31) has died.

On a YouTube channel, '[Breaking News] Mao Asada found in an apartment in Gangnam, Seoul!

This is because he uploaded a video titled 'In the end, Yuna Kim burst into tears.



The published video contains false information that Mao Asada made an extreme choice at her home in Gangnam, Seoul.

The video, which is easily clicked on by shocking news, was 'fake news' made up of only obvious false facts. 



In this video, 'Seoul National University Hospital' was explained and images of overseas hospitals were used, and the unfamiliar patient in the video was called 'Asada Mao'.



He also listed unreliable information, such as writing a picture of the bustling Myeong-dong street, saying, 'Thousands of Mao Asada fans flocked to Seoul National University Hospital'.



The video attracted more than 400,000 views in one day, drawing the attention of netizens. 



The channel in question deleted the video today, but it is still distributing fake news with a channel introduction saying, 'It delivers the fastest news on overseas reactions related to Korea'.
