A civilian freighter that flew from Serbia in Europe with a large amount of ammunition crashed on a farmland in northern Greece, killing eight crew members and authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.

According to Greek aviation authorities, a freighter flying from Serbia on the Balkan Peninsula in Europe and heading for Jordan in the Middle East crashed on a farmland in northern Greece on the night of the 16th, killing all eight crew members.



In the footage from the site, you can see that the freighter is crashing in the sky, already covered in flames.



It was revealed that the cargo plane was operated by a Ukrainian private airline, which had about 11 tons of ammunition loaded on it.



Greek media reported that communications were lost shortly after a cargo plane pilot requested an emergency landing from aviation authorities due to an engine malfunction.



Authorities have carefully checked the safety around the crash site and are investigating the cause of the crash.
