The train passes through Germany, Poland, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries, and enters through the Alashankou port in Xinjiang, China.

On October 26, 2021, in Hamburg, Germany, the staff of the China-Germany Railway took a group photo with the first "Shanghai" China-Europe train that arrived successfully.

On September 28, the first "Shanghai" train, loaded with 50 containers of goods, went westward from Shanghai, exiting through the Xinjiang Alashankou Port, and bound for Hamburg.
