The United States extends the validity of visitor visas for Saudis to 10 years

The United States Mission to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the extension of the validity of visitor visas (B1 / B2) for Saudi citizens from five to ten years, starting from August 1, 2022.

In a press statement, the US mission stated that an agreement was reached to extend the validity of visitor visas, through close cooperation with the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the basis of reciprocity, to facilitate tourism and business between the two countries.

The statement noted that facilitating travel contributes significantly to the prosperity of the economies of the United States and Saudi Arabia, in addition to the development of commercial partnerships and further enhances mutual understanding between American and Saudi citizens.

She indicated that the decision to extend the validity of the visa was issued based on previous efforts to facilitate travel for tourism and trade purposes, and to complement the interview exemption program that was announced earlier this year.

Under the Interview Waiver Program, Saudi nationals over the age of 50 who wish to renew visitor visas that have expired for at least 48 months may qualify for an interview exemption.
