Shortly after US President Joe Biden's visit, the Israeli Air Force attacked targets in the Palestinian Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military said on Saturday that a rocket factory operated by Hamas in the center of the Gaza Strip had been hit.

Witnesses reported that the site was being used as a training camp.

Rockets had previously been fired into Israeli territory.

Sirens sounded twice in southern Israel on Saturday morning, warning of rocket fire.

According to military information, a missile was intercepted and three more missiles fell in open terrain.

No one initially claimed responsibility for the rocket fire.

In the past, Hamas, which rules Gaza, has repeatedly fired rockets into Israeli territory.

Biden began his trip to the Middle East in Israel on Wednesday, where he met Prime Minister Jair Lapid.

On Friday, Biden consulted with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank.

The American President then traveled on to Saudi Arabia.

On Saturday, Biden will take part in the summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which includes the Gulf states of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

Egypt, Jordan and Iraq will also take part in the meeting.
