As the heatwave that hit China for the first time in 149 years continues for a month, videos and photos showing the severity of the heatwave are being uploaded through social media.

On the 14th local time, a Chinese netizen, who introduced himself as a citizen of Danyang, Jiangsu Province, China, took a video of the ants on the boiling road and posted how severe the heatwave was.

In the video, an ant is put on the ground, moves back and forth briefly, and then collapses and dies as if on fire in just 3 seconds.

On the day the video was filmed, the Jiangsu Provincial Government issued a red warning for a heat wave, and the daytime temperature in Danyang City, Jiangsu Province, reached 42 degrees, and the surface temperature of the asphalt road reached a whopping 60-65 degrees.

Not only this.

In Nanjing, where the midday temperature is approaching 42 degrees Celsius, chicks have hatched themselves from eggs in the kitchen as the air temperature is equal to that of a hen.

In addition, more than 900 million people in China live in high-temperature areas, and heat stroke patients are increasing one after another.

So far, at least two people have been killed and more than 10 are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, China's meteorological authorities have announced that global warming is the biggest cause of the heat wave.
