Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he has decided to run for the next presidential election and that it remains only to announce whether it will be before or after the midterm elections in November.
In an interview with New York magazine published on the 14th local time, former President Trump said, "In my mind, I have already made a decision, and there is nothing more to consider."
Then, he declared his candidacy, saying, "It will be my big decision whether to do it before or after the midterm elections in November."
Although former President Trump has repeatedly expressed his intention to run for president in 2024, this is the first time he has explicitly publicly stated that he has decided to run for president.
President Joe Biden has also announced his intention to run for the next presidential election, and it is expected that the two former and incumbent presidents will have a return match for the first time in four years, given that no rival within the Democratic Party has yet been revealed.
