Be careful with videos that, on social networks, claim to show the war in Ukraine.

A publication dated June 9, relayed by a Facebook account in French-speaking Africa, has been viewed several thousand times.

“Russian Helicopter VS Ukrainian Howitzer.

War looks like a sad video game as Putin plays with life,” writes the author of the post, translated from Creole.

On the document, helicopters in full flight are shot at.

Some crash to the ground.

In the comments, we find a majority of people admiring the Russian military force: “Russia is really invincible”, “Westerners, NATO and the USA facing Russia”.

Because it is a simulation.

On YouTube, it is possible to find many such videos posted by Internet users who share their war video game exploits.

This is taken from a sequence of Arma 3, a tactical combat game developed by Bohemia Interactive, a company based in the Czech Republic.

The original video is approximately 9 minutes long and was uploaded on March 23, 2022 by a user who posts many videos of his gaming sessions. The description below the video states that they are "3 Ka-52 attack helicopters firing missiles at a military convoy”.

And to add: “I used Arma 3 to create this military simulation.

I really like making these videos.

The company that designs this video game also posted a message on Twitter on February 25: "Beware that lately, many heavily modified Arma game videos have surfaced, labeled as videos depicting the current Ukrainian conflict. .
