The State Department has approved a possible sale of M142 Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) and related equipment to Estonia for an estimated cost of up to $500 million.

It is noted that the Pentagon approved the relevant certificate and transmitted information about a possible sale to Congress.

Estonia has asked for up to six HIMARS MLRS, up to 36 GMGLRS multiple launch rocket systems, as well as missile pods and missiles, the report says.

"The proposed sale of this equipment will not change the basic military balance in the region," the Pentagon said.

In March, it became known that the United States had requested preliminary proposals from companies on the possibility of supplying air defense systems to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and integrating them into the NATO air defense system.
