The department noted that the number of active cases of the disease is declining, which led to the restoration of the provision of planned medical care to citizens.

The Ministry of Health added that against the background of the stabilization of the situation in most regions, medical institutions that had previously been repurposed to provide medical care to patients with COVID-19 returned to work in the main profile.

“At the same time, the provision of assistance to patients with COVID-19 in need of inpatient treatment is assigned to specialized infectious diseases hospitals and departments,” the ministry said, citing RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, said that with the advent of new variants of the Omicron strain in Russia, there will be an increase in the number of COVID-19 diseases, but such sub-variants do not lead to a more severe course of the disease.
