According to one of the surviving police officers, after reconstructing the facts, the attack was carried out by “

 professionals

”.

Three hours before the incident, a vehicle arrived in front of the Zantiguila security and control post.

The driver simulated a breakdown to better check the condition of the premises and the forces involved.

When the heavily armed attackers then disembarked, they were on familiar ground: targeted gunfire, premises belonging to the FDS attacked.

Panic sets in fairly quickly on the scene.

At least six civilians and members of the dressed corps were killed.

There are also injuries.

This Friday, at the beginning of the afternoon, civilians and soldiers were still missing after the attack.

A rare attack in this area

This attack, which took place about fifty kilometers from Bamako, worries observers.

Rather, Mali's FSD positions are generally attacked in the north,

in the center

, but rarely so close to the capital.

According to our information, this Friday, after a meeting of the army headquarters in Bamako, it was decided to send reinforcements to Zantiguila, the site of the attack.
