The report says the EU is falling behind on its high-profile pledges to provide Ukraine with substantial support as the association faces the prospect of its own serious economic problems.

It is also noted that about two months have passed since the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, proposed sending €9 billion in emergency loans to Ukraine. 

“So far, the association has managed to agree only on the initial tranche, which is only a ninth of the target amount,” the agency writes.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that the EU intends to approve €500 million in military assistance to Ukraine on July 18.
