About thirty police officers from Roanne, in the Loire, were mobilized on Wednesday afternoon, after the improbable escape of a detainee from the Roanne detention center.

explains , a veritable “manhunt” was set up to find this man with a disturbing CV, to say the least.

"He has been imprisoned since 2008 and can only be released in 2032 because he was convicted of murder and drug trafficking," said Roanne public prosecutor Abdelkrim Grini.

He was taken from the detention center at my request to be taken into custody, because he had insulted and threatened prison guards.

Once at the Loire police station for this police custody, the 35-year-old man managed to escape by taking advantage of an open window in a room.

"He intended to leave France to continue his run"

"In a fraction of a second, he rushed and he plunged headfirst into the void from the first floor, without worrying about what there might be below," says Abdelkrim Grini.

After being spotted in different places in Roanne, without being caught in time, the fugitive took advantage of this opportunity to reach the Lyon region and find his wife.

He was in his company, in a hotel in Vénissieux, when a team from the Lyon anti-crime brigade was finally able to arrest him Thursday morning.

After twenty hours on the run, the man was again taken into custody in Roanne, before returning to the detention center on Friday.

"This individual with a particularly dangerous profile clearly intended to leave France and continue his run in a foreign country", specifies Abdelkrim Grini.
