(25th Anniversary of the Return of Hong Kong) "Return: 25 Years of Love" will be on the shelves of the Hong Kong Book Fair. Scholars share the stories of the two places

  China News Service, Hong Kong, July 14 (Reporter Zhang Xiaoxi) The popular reading book "Return, 25 Years of Love" written by the Hong Kong Local Chronicle Center and published by Zhonghua Book Company (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. will be on the shelves at the 32nd Hong Kong Book Fair.

A number of scholars who acted as academic advisors for the book shared stories about exchanges and cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong on the 14th, and hoped that the publication of the book would enhance Hong Kong people's understanding of history.

  "Return, 25 Years of Love" focuses on the "love" between the Mainland and Hong Kong, and selects 25 stories of people in the two places watching and helping each other and working together, including more than 100 major events in the two places and nearly 200 precious historical photos.

The major events recorded in the book include the donation of giant pandas to Hong Kong by the state, the opening of the Hong Kong Palace Museum, the state's support for Hong Kong to fight the epidemic, the renovation of the Dongshen water supply, and the opening of the Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link.

  At the media exchange meeting held on the same day, Chen Kunyao, honorary professor of the School of Economics and Management of the University of Hong Kong, said that since the return of Hong Kong 25 years ago, the ties between Hong Kong and the mainland have been continuously deepened and consolidated.

In the future, Hong Kong people can increase opportunities and choices by actively participating in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

  Liu Peiqiong, former deputy to the National People's Congress of Hong Kong, shared her experience of working and researching in the Mainland.

She said that with the deepening of her understanding of the country, she has become more aware that Hong Kong has a unique mission and that mainland cities also have great potential for development.

  Liu Shuyong, a senior researcher at the Department of Hong Kong and South China History Research at Lingnan University, said that in providing water resources for Hong Kong, it shows the country's care for Hong Kong.

In the 1960s, despite the economic difficulties, the country still took the well-being of Hong Kong people as its priority, and imported water from the Dongjiang River to Hong Kong.

  Xie Guoliang, Honorary Senior Researcher of the Lau Chor Tak Institute of Global Economics and Finance, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, recalled his stories of exchanges with experts from Guangdong Province on the issue of Guangdong-Hong Kong cooperation, and put forward suggestions on deepening cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong in systems and rules.

He said that the relevant experience has made him more deeply aware that the two places are connected by blood, stand together through thick and thin, and have forged a deep compatriotism in different historical periods.
