Great excitement early Wednesday evening in Hattersheim: In the city on the Main, about 15 kilometers downstream from Frankfurt, a two-meter-long king boa (boa constrictor) was missing from its owners.

She was discovered neither in her terrarium nor in the apartment.

After about three hours of their own search, the owners informed the fire brigade and police, who then initiated a "large-scale manhunt": Shortly after 6:00 p.m., not only the animal rescue group of the Main-Taunus district arrived in the Ladislaus-Winterstein-Ring.

In addition, all three Hattersheim fire brigades as well as the technical operations management of the Main-Taunus district and the Bad Soden am Taunus fire brigade were on duty, they also had drones fly to search for the snake.

While the area around the house was being searched and a large area cordoned off, the constrictor was finally found by its owners in the apartment.

She had crawled into the cushion of a sofa.

The sofa cover was opened and the snake was quickly caught and secured back in its terrarium.

The approximately 80 emergency services moved away again.
