The start of the 10th session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace in Rabat

Yesterday, in Rabat, the work of the tenth session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace began with the meetings of the parliament’s committees and its bureau at the headquarters of the Moroccan House of Representatives, with the participation of 80 parliamentarians representing various parliaments of the world.

On a related level, Ahmed bin Muhammad Al-Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, met at the headquarters of the Council, Rachid Talbi Alami, Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives, and they discussed developments in joint action related to tolerance and peace and ways to enhance joint action to spread these values ​​and renounce violence, extremism and hatred.

Ahmed bin Muhammad Al-Jarwan chaired the meeting of the Parliament’s office, while the meetings of the six permanent committees were held, including the Peace Planting Committee, the Sustainable Development Committee, the Legal Affairs Committee, the International Relations Committee, the Women and Youth Committee, and the Countering Extremism and Terrorism Committee.

He stressed that yesterday's preparatory meetings for tomorrow's meeting scheduled for the Moroccan House of Representatives discussed the need to work on finding a solution to the food and energy security crisis and focused on addressing contemporary issues and the latest political developments on the international arena through peaceful dialogue sessions.

He added, "The committees also discussed the formation of working groups in local and regional parliaments to support the spread of tolerance and peace, and the formation of a specialized committee of parliamentarians was approved to follow up on the repercussions of international food security and ways to protect and enhance it."

It is worth noting that the tenth session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace will complete its work by holding the plenary session today at the headquarters of the Moroccan House of Representatives in Rabat, in the presence of the Speakers of the House of Representatives and Moroccan advisors, the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and representatives of more than 80 countries around the world.
