The man pretended to be a young girl on social media and tricked boys into sending nude photos and masturbating in front of the camera.
He was sentenced by Eksjö District Court to ten months in prison for exploiting children for sexual posing, sexual harassment and attempted sexual abuse of children.
Parts of the verdict were appealed by the perpetrator to the Göta Court of Appeal.
The Court of Appeal's assessment is that the man is guilty of the acts and that they should be classified as the district court has done.
On the other hand, the Court of Appeal believes that the total penalty value should only result in eight months' imprisonment.
The Court of Appeal further states that the sanction shall be converted into probation with 180 hours of community service.
It is believed that a sentence for probation as well as care and treatment can contribute to the man refraining from continuing crime.
