It is reported that the Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Education Center is the first non-profit educational institution in Hong Kong jointly established by cross-border "government, industry, academia and research" and dedicated to serving innovation and technology talents. Jointly initiated by Science and Technology Park Corporation, the purpose is to jointly inspire and cultivate potential talents through a series of well-designed courses, combined with input from universities, enterprises, venture capital management experts and all sectors of society.
Leung Chun-ying, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said in a video speech that the innovation and technology development in Hong Kong is not only for talents to be successful, but also the society has the responsibility to provide an environment for them to apply what they have learned.
The Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Education Center can use the platform of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to promote more exchanges between Hong Kong and Guangdong, so as to grow, struggle and develop together.
Li Jiachao, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, attended the event and delivered a speech.
He said that with the support of the central government and the promotion of the SAR government, Hong Kong's innovation and technology development is vigorous.
He hoped that all sectors of the community would work together with the SAR government to inspire the new generation of innovative thinking in Hong Kong.
He also encouraged young people to have the courage to try and integrate into the overall development of the country, opening a new chapter for Hong Kong's innovation and technology industry.
Tan Tieniu, deputy director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, said in his speech that the establishment of the Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Education Center is of great significance to strengthening the cultivation of innovation and technology talents, supporting youth innovation and entrepreneurship, and helping Hong Kong to build an international innovation center.
He hoped that the Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Education Center will focus on creating a platform for popularizing scientific knowledge, focus on creating a platform for cultivating innovative talents, and focus on creating a platform for fostering family and national feelings, so as to contribute to the construction of a global technological innovation highland.
In the subsequent keynote speech, the Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Mr. Sun Dong, pointed out that the greatest treasures of innovation and technology are in universities. Hong Kong's universities have produced many world-class scientific research achievements. Several aspects of scientific research support are explored to promote universities to play a more important role in cultivating college students' innovative thinking and encouraging college students to start businesses.
