Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck (Greens) has tested positive for the corona virus.
"Both the rapid test and the PCR test were positive," said a spokeswoman for the minister on Wednesday.
Habeck therefore has cold symptoms.
According to the legal requirements, he went into isolation, the statement said.
All face-to-face appointments of the minister, who is currently the focus of particular attention due to the energy crisis resulting from the Ukraine war, have already been canceled or will be cancelled.
Habeck takes care of other official business from the home office.
At the end of April, the Federal Minister of Economics had already been infected with the corona virus.
