On the evening of the 13th local time, US President Biden, who was visiting Israel, said in an interview with the local TV media Channel 12 that the US does not rule out the use of force as a last resort against Iran.

According to local Israeli media reports, Biden said in an interview on the Iranian nuclear issue that he believes that former US President Trump's decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal was a huge mistake, which (caused) Iran is closer than ever to have nuclear weapons.

Biden said the U.S. could still reach a deal with Iran to reduce its nuclear program while taking action (against Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps).

Biden also said the United States would keep Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on its "terrorist organization list" even if Iran refused to re-sign the nuclear deal.

Earlier on the 13th, Iranian President Raisi criticized the practice of "maximum pressure" by the United States.

He believes that it is impossible for the United States to use the "language of force" to talk to the Iranian people. The United States should learn from the lessons of the past and not always repeat the failed policy of using "maximum pressure" against Iran.

In July 2015, Iran reached a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue with the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany.

Under the agreement, Iran pledged to limit its nuclear program and the international community lifted sanctions against Iran.

In May 2018, the United States unilaterally withdrew from the agreement, and subsequently restarted and added a series of sanctions against Iran.

Since May 2019, Iran has gradually suspended the implementation of some of the terms of the agreement, but promised that the measures taken are "reversible".

The parties involved in the Iran nuclear deal will start negotiations in Vienna, the capital of Austria, in April 2021 to discuss the resumption of compliance between the United States and Iran, and the United States indirectly participates in the negotiations.

The eighth round of negotiations was launched in Vienna on December 27, 2021.

On March 11 this year, Borrell, the EU's high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, announced that negotiations were suspended due to "external factors".

From June 28 to 29 this year, under the coordination of the European Union, Iran and the United States held indirect negotiations in Doha, the capital of Qatar, without significant progress.
