“In Melitopol, the saboteur Yaroslav Zhuk, the perpetrator of the assassination attempt on June 17, 2022, on the director of the city’s education department, Elena Shapurova, was detained,” he informed.
According to Rogov, the detainee cooperates with investigators and gives confessions regarding his accomplices.
He said that the suspect acted on instructions from the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to the detainee, the former mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, was directly involved in the preparation of the attacks.
In addition, the investigation received information about the involvement of a local resident Yevgeny Astakhov in undermining the railway track and organizing a terrorist attack on Russia Day.
As a result of this attack, civilians of Melitopol suffered.
