“The intention to further strengthen the strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries, the consistent implementation of specific projects in the trade, economic and energy spheres was confirmed,” the message says.

Putin and Tokayev also discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in line with the agreements reached following the Russian-Kazakh top-level talks held on June 17 in St. Petersburg. 

In June, Putin met with former Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
