It was around 11:30 p.m. Monday evening in Strasbourg when two young men on an electric scooter had a serious accident with a road car from the Romans.

During the impact, the driver and the passenger of the scooter were thrown to the ground after hitting the windshield of the vehicle.

Bilan, the driver of the scooter, shocked and injured, was transported to CHU Hautepierre for treatment.

His passenger was less fortunate and had to be evacuated in absolute urgency to the Strasbourg hospital.

According to the first elements collected at the scene of the accident by the Bas-Rhin police, the driver of the scooter crossed the intersection at very high speed, at a red light, before violently colliding with the vehicle which was traveling at low pace.

It appears, according to a police source, that the speed recorded on the counter of the scooter showed more than 50 km/h.

Another problem, the machine was not insured.

The alcohol screening carried out on the motorist is negative and blood samples were taken from the driver and the passenger of the scooter.

The Bas-Rhin national police reminds that only approved scooters are authorized to travel on public roads at a maximum authorized speed of 25 km / h, respecting the Highway Code.

Furthermore, the transport of a passenger is strictly prohibited and the driver must have “civil liability” insurance.
