  Kobe City said the case, a woman in her 40s, was diagnosed with the new coronavirus after she visited a doctor on June 24 with symptoms of cough and fever.

After testing, it was found that the case was infected with a new subtype of Omicron, BA.2.75.

  According to the report, since the case has no history of foreign travel within 14 days, and has not been in contact with overseas returnees, Kobe City said that the possibility of local infection cannot be ruled out.

  BA.2.75 was first discovered in India, and there is currently no exact data on its infectivity and the probability of serious aggravation.

  Shigeru Oma, chairman of the Japanese government's new coronavirus infection control team, said on the 11th that he believes that Japan is already in the seventh wave of the new crown epidemic.
