In the rental contracts that Rikshem draws up with each new tenant, there is a wording that the tenant must take care of their patio, and if you want to set up a fence, for example, a special permit is required.

During the spring, Rikshem inspected the patios in Gränby, and should then - according to the housing company itself - have discovered shortcomings.

It was because of this that the letter with the requirements was sent out.

Carolina Miranda is one of those who in mid-May received a letter from Rikshem about the patio.

It was just a problem - she has no patio.

- It is a very good example of how communication with Rikshem works, the rules are not clear and you do not know what applies.

They also have no idea who has a patio, says Carolina Miranda who is a member of the local tenants' association.

"Has spent time"

The letters to the tenants have been individually adapted and SVT has read letters in which Rikshem demands, among other things, that you must prove permission to build a fence or set up a pavilion on the patio.

Fatma Abu Sultan is one of those who has received such a remark, but she says she can not prove that she has a permit because she received it orally.

- We are upset because we have spent a lot of time on our patio, we do not know what Rikshem wants, says Fatma Abu Sultan.

"You risk being fired"

If you do not take care of your patio, the ultimate consequence is that you can be fired from your apartment.

Rikshem has decided that.

- We are obliged to be clear about what can happen if you do not fix your patio, says Peter Skeppström, press officer at Rikshem.

Until now, no one should have been forced to leave their apartment due to a messy patio.

Rikshem says that there is a continuous dialogue with the tenants and that the goal is that no one should have to be fired.
