The Paris Grand Prix, one of the biggest horse races
The first edition of the Grand Prix de Paris took place in 1863 in the presence of Napoleon III.
This flat race welcomed, at the start, 3-year-old horses on a 3,000 meter long track.
Its configuration then changed many times until it was over 2,400 meters in 2005. With the Poule d'Essais des Poulains and the Prix du Jockey Club, the Paris Grand Prix is the French version of the English Triple Crown.
Raced at the Longchamps racecourse, this Group I competition is reserved for 3-year-old colts and fillies without restriction of nationality.
