A neurologist practicing at the Orleans Hospital Center (Loiret) was indicted on Thursday for sexual assault by a person abusing the authority conferred on him by his function.

According to the prosecution, the facts would have been revealed "by several of his patients" and would have occurred between the beginning of the 2010s and today.

A judicial investigation has been opened, reports France 3 Centre-Val-de-Loire.

The investigation continues

The doctor was placed under judicial control.

He can however exercise his activity, but necessarily "in the presence of a third person", indicated the public prosecutor.

The man cannot come into contact with his victims and must submit to psychological care.

In the meantime, the investigation is continuing to "establish the materiality of the facts" but also to identify other potential victims.

For his part, the director general of the CHR of Orleans assured to have learned of the indictment of the doctor by the media and did not wish to comment.

He also said that he would obviously apply the future court decision.
