Former Japanese Prime Minister Abe to be Posthumously Awarded the Supreme Order of the Chrysanthemum

It is noted that the relevant decision was made by the Japanese government during the meeting.

On July 8, Abe died in hospital after an assassination attempt was made on him during a campaign speech in the city of Nara. 

The shooter, 41-year-old Tetsuya Yamagami, fully admitted his guilt.
