The body of José Eduardo Dos Santos was autopsied this weekend in Barcelona, Spain.
The lawyers of one of the daughters of the former Angolan president, Tchizé Dos Santos, confirmed this to AFP on Monday July 11.
The autopsy took place at his request.
José Eduardo dos Santos died Friday, July 8, at the age of 79, following a cardiac arrest, in Barcelona where he lived, since 2019. A death which, according to his daughter, "
occurred in questionable conditions
".

We don't have the results yet
," one of Tchizé Dos Santos' lawyers told AFP.
In a statement released this weekend, the daughter of the former president accuses the ex-wife of José Eduardo dos Santos and his personal doctor of being responsible for the death of the former president.
A complaint has been filed with the Spanish courts for "attempted homicide".
The past autopsy now remains the question of the burial of the former president.
According to the Angolan press, a government delegation is negotiating with the family, in Barcelona, the repatriation of the remains, an option opposed by Tchizè Dos Santos who refuses "
national funerals which could favor the current government
".
According to her, the former head of state would have expressed the wish to be buried in Spain, in privacy.
Today, the Angolan President, João Lourenço, paid tribute to his predecessor by signing the book of condolences opened in Luanda by the authorities.

Let us honor José Eduardo Dos Santos by defending and perpetuating his greatest work, peace and national reconciliation
,” he wrote.
National mourning is to last until Friday.
