The climate crisis is more acute than before.

Politicians usually talk about the climate as the fateful issue of our time, but among the speeches in Almedalen, the issue has been raised very little.

Eight party leaders have spoken for over three hours.

SVT's has mapped the numbers, counted keywords and what time they spent on climate and energy.

The party leaders talked so much about the climate

Half of the parties - the Sweden Democrats, the Moderates, the Christian Democrats and the Liberals - spoke for a minute or less about climate issues.

KD and M mentioned the word environment mainly when they criticized the Green Party.

The Sweden Democrats did not mention the word climate at all.

And several of the proposals mentioned increase emissions.

- What distinguishes this year's Almedalen is that it almost competed in lowering the price of petrol and worsening the reduction obligation - ie proposals that increase instead of reduce emissions, says Madeleine van der Veer at the WWF.

Energy policy took up more space

Almost everyone spoke energy policy.

The parties on the right spoke not least about nuclear power.

Others talked about wind power.

The World Wide Fund for Nature welcomes a discussion on different types of power and increased electricity production.

But both offshore wind power and new nuclear power plants are about what happens in the long term, Madeleine van der Veer points out.

- The electricity issue can not take all the focus from how we should reduce emissions in the agricultural sector and the transport sector now.

It is not enough to talk about how we will reduce emissions in 10 or 20 years.

If we are to meet the climate goals and deliver on the 1.5-degree goal, emissions must be reduced here and now.

"There will be zero grades"

As expected, the Green Party talked most about the climate, otherwise the red-greens and the center spent about two minutes on the issue.

Magdalena Andersson had a couple of formulations about Sweden and climate change.

The World Wide Fund for Nature is not impressed:

- She raises the problem and the promise that Sweden will be the world's first fossil - free welfare state, then it stops.

There will be no suggestions or concrete measures on how we will get there.

The World Wide Fund for Nature's overall rating of politicians this election year will be the lowest possible, on a scale between one and five.

- I say zero.

That is the overall impression.

We need to look extra at the parties that claim the post of prime minister, and today they do not raise these issues.

There is no crisis insight and no policy measures for zero emissions, there will be zero ratings.
