Since 2020, Guangdong Province, together with Hong Kong and Macao, will jointly designate July to August as the natural education season of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, organize a series of activities, promote cooperation and exchanges between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and create a characteristic brand of ecological civilization education for young people in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

According to the Guangdong Forestry Bureau, during the summer vacation this year, Guangdong will join hands with Hong Kong, Macau and various nature education bases to hold hundreds of nature experiences, plant identification, butterfly and bird watching, night observation, nature notes, nature classes, cultural insights, etc. All kinds of characteristic nature education activities bring young people a series of ecological education classrooms with nature as teachers, continue to launch the brand of high-quality nature education activities, and build a Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao natural education ecosystem.
At the launching ceremony, the Liaison Office of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Nature Education Alliance was awarded the license, and five outstanding nature education participants were appointed as "all-media mentors of nature education", and relevant experts introduced the methods of conducting nature observation activities on the spot.
It is reported that this is the first time that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Nature Observation Competition has been included in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Nature Education Season.

Characteristic nature education institutions from Zhuhai and other regions of Guangdong set up 23 special booths including plant tie-dyeing, mangrove cultivation, bird watching, and insect science popularization, allowing the public to watch the exhibition and participate in the exhibition. Up to now, Guangdong has identified 100 provincial-level natural education bases, built 101 provincial-level characteristic natural education paths, more than 500 professional social organizations engaged in natural education, and nearly 700 positions to carry out natural education work. More than 25,000 brand-related activities such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Nature Education Season and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Nature Observation Competition were held, with a cumulative participation of more than 6.3 million people.
