Dear reader,

Faith has lost its relevance

.

Once people have turned their backs on the church, they usually do not return to it, as Sarah Obertreis found out in extensive research.

But the number of people leaving the church is higher than ever, and it's not just the abuse scandal that's to blame:

God and the church are no longer important.

Because young people have values too.

With an exit, the churches not only lose the exiters themselves, but also their future children.

In the past, their members simply grew.

Today they are dying out.

Two of the protagonists in Obertreis' text had a baby a year and a half ago.

Your son will later decide for himself whether he wants to become a follower of a religion or not.

They will raise him atheistically.

The probability that he will later become a member of one of the two churches is therefore close to zero.

Luke's son will probably have internalized the Christian values anyway.

But what does this mean for the churches?

Marie Luise Vollbrecht, a PhD student in biology, was actually supposed to give a lecture on gender and biology at Humboldt University a few days ago.

But it did not get to that.

The “Working Group of Critical Lawyers” had called for the lecture to be canceled because of allegedly transphobic statements by Vollbrecht.

The university caved in and canceled the event over "security concerns."

Thomas Thiel comments critically: The word shows what militancy is expected of the "critical lawyers" and their comrades-in-arms.

At Humboldt University, there is a tradition of withdrawing solidarity from scientists in such situations.

Think of the hunts against Herfried Münkler and Jörg Baberowski.

A fatal signal, finds Thiel and goes to the heart of the allegations.

Incidentally, the lecture can be made up for on July 14 - with prominent participation.

A dispute about the inheritance can flare up at many points in the determination of the inheritance.

The information about the proportion can be such a sore point.

Our business editor Gregor Brunner wrote down what the bereaved should know.

Because even with a will, the testator cannot be 100% sure that the heirs will not end up in a dispute before a court.

Whether and when legal protection insurance is worthwhile for such cases?

It depends – of course – on heredity.

Thank you for your interest in our digital offers, which we are very pleased about.

Have a nice weekend

Yours sincerely, Carsten Knop
