Following the death of former Prime Minister Abe, his younger brother, Defense Minister Kishi, met with US Secretary of Defense Austin over the phone and expressed his condolences, but inherited Mr. Abe's wishes and continued the Japan-US alliance. I shared my thoughts on strengthening.

Following the death of former Prime Minister Abe after being shot by a man, his younger brother, Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi, had a telephone conversation with US Secretary of Defense Austin for about 10 minutes from 8 pm on the 9th.

In this, Secretary Austin expressed his condolences by saying, "All the staff of the Ministry of Defense are with Minister Kishi and the Japanese people as allies and friends," and deepened the Japan-US alliance by expanding the role of Japan. We commend Mr. Abe for strengthening the partnership in the Indo-Pacific region.

In response, Minister Kishi thanked him and said, "This kind of sneaky brutality that is a blasphemy against democracy is absolutely unacceptable."

He then inherited Mr Abe's wishes and expressed his intention to continue working with Secretary Austin to strengthen the Japan-US alliance.
