A couple in Lycksele was convicted on Tuesday in Lycksele District Court for having systematically abused and violated the man's children from a previous relationship.

The crimes lasted from September 2019 to July 2020.

The boy, now ten years old, was sometimes forced to stand naked on a chair by the window for several hours.

The boy's big sister witnessed much of what her little brother was exposed to.

- Dad used to sit and watch him get up.

But sometimes when he got tired of standing, he wanted to sit down, but he didn't get it, the sister says in interrogation.

"I froze a lot"

The boy has on several occasions been showered in icy water, both with and without clothes.

Sometimes he had to sit with icy clothes locked in the toilet until the clothes dried.

- It hurt my head and I froze a lot.

I felt angry even though I did not dare to show it.

And sorry, says the boy in the police interrogations.

At one point, the father and cohabitant picked up ice and tucked it into the boy's underpants.

The boy was often locked in the toilet.

Some nights he had to sleep in there and according to the verdict he often had to eat locked up in the toilet.

The locking knob had been unscrewed so that the door could only be opened from the outside.

In addition, it was often pitch black inside the toilet when the boy was kept locked up.

- These are very serious acts to which the child has been subjected, says Josef Angerbjörn, plaintiff's counsel for the children.

The preliminary investigation shows that the rest of the family (father, cohabitant, cohabitant's child and the boy's big sister) went on fun activities when the boy was locked up, including restaurant visits, swimming and mini golf.

The boy has been feeling bad for a long time

- It has affected the child in a profound way and he has felt bad for a very long time, says Josef Angerbjörn.

The father, who is in his 40s, and his partner deny all allegations.

According to the father, the boy himself locked himself in the toilet and refused to come out.

The couple is sentenced to two years and four months in prison for their refusal.

The father is convicted of assault, aggravated assault and unlawful deprivation of liberty.

Sambon is convicted of aggravated assault, unlawful deprivation of liberty and assault in court.

This after she threatened the boy's big sister to silence by seeking her out at her school.

SVT Nyheter Västerbotten has sought the father's lawyer without success.
