“We regret to inform you that five defenders of the Donetsk People’s Republic were killed and fourteen defenders of the Donetsk People’s Republic were injured in the performance of military duty in the struggle for independence,” the Telegram statement said.
The People's Militia added that the Ukrainian military fired more than 130 shells on the territory of the republic.
Earlier, the mayor of Gorlovka (DPR) Ivan Prikhodko said that ten people were injured as a result of the shelling of the city by Ukrainian troops.
