Olivier Dubois has been in detention for 15 months.

The French journalist was kidnapped on April 8, 2021 in Gao, in northern Mali, while he was reporting.

Since then, our colleague, who works in particular for Liberation, Jeune Afrique or Le Point, has appeared in two videos, in which he confirms to be the hostage of Jnim, the Support Group for Islam and Muslims, linked to al -Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.

The Malian and French authorities ensure that they are doing everything possible for his

release

.

In the meantime, like every 8 of the month, RFI gives the floor to those close to it.

Despite the suspension of RFI in

, our newspapers and our programs remain receivable, in particular on short waves.

Where he is, probably in a corner of the desert in northern Mali, everything suggests that he will therefore be able to continue to hear the words spoken by his family.

This message to bring you my support, all my affection and to tell you that I think of you relentlessly.

Hope is the only good of all and life always gives us a second chance, which is called tomorrow.

Time is on your side.

I kiss you hard my son.

I like you.

My love, I hope where you are, you are well.

Me, I never leave you.

You are my inspiration, my reason to become a better person every day.

I love you from the bottom of my heart and my soul.

I'm still here at 5:30 but, in truth, every time I look up at the sky, you're with me.

I only breathe for this moment when our family will be reunited forever.

I have patience and faith, because I see in my mind taking shape this life that we deserve.

You are the best man I know and I am proud of you.

The children are fine, they are warriors.

Once again, once again, despite the situation, it is with pleasure that I send you this new message which, I think, will find you in good condition to face the situation.

On our side, it's fine.

We think of you a lot and hope to see you again single speed.

I saw a picture of the children, they are doing very well and think of you a lot.

Kisses, hold on, your father who loves you.

(…) This message of encouragement and support for you.

You are supported, understood and loved, do not lose hope Olivier, in your mind and in your heart.

I know you're worried about whether you're going to be able to live a normal life.

Stay confident, you are the strongest person I know.

On the Pont d'Avignon, we dance there, we dance there but not only.

The city, the sea, the Mistral high school, the festival team and its festival-goers are fully mobilized for you.

On the garden side as on the courtyard side, mum, Benj and I asked them for this renowned event which has just started.

With them, we wanted to put you at the top of the bill because for 15 months we have the impression that some people don't care... No need for long tirades for the theater capital to raise your captivity in front of this floor of festival-goers.

All that's missing is you, Olivier, the hostage absent from the scene...

Canèle, sister of Olivier Dubois
