Be careful.. health risks that may affect you if you eat excessively during the feast

The Dubai Health Authority has identified three potential health problems that may affect members of society in the event of indiscriminate eating and excessive meat consumption, during the blessed Eid al-Adha, which are "indigestion, intestinal confusion, high cholesterol levels, and food poisoning if eaten from unknown sources." .

The Head of the Health Promotion and Education Department at the Dubai Health Authority, Dr. Hind Al-Awadi, told "Emirates Today" that it is necessary to eat meat in moderation during the blessed Eid Al-Adha, especially when sacrifices abound, and meat is exchanged between members of society.

She stressed the need to cook meat well, and to avoid eating it raw or incomplete, as this may result in health problems in the stomach and digestive system in general.

She stressed the need to avoid overeating, to refrain from eating fatty foods and soft drinks, to adhere to eating healthy foods prepared from home, and not to eat a lot of sweets and meat dishes that are heavy on the stomach.

She stressed the need to chew food slowly to ensure good digestion, especially since beef and lamb take a long time in the digestion process, so it is recommended to eat them in moderation, and avoid fried foods or meals that contain a high percentage of fats and sugars.

She advised to be careful to eat fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and whole grains, to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water daily, and to exercise or walk to help digestion.
