Abdullah bin Zayed participates in the meeting of foreign ministers of the G20 summit.. and affirms the UAE's support for Indonesia's efforts

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, participated in the meeting of foreign ministers of the Group of Twenty Summit, which was held on the island of Bali, Indonesia, on July 7 and 8, within the framework of Indonesia's presidency of the Group of Twenty for the year 2022.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, "may God protect him", is keen to advance international efforts within the Group of Twenty in order to meet the common challenges the world is witnessing in order to achieve global stability and prosperity.

His Highness praised the efforts of the Indonesian side in managing the meetings of the G-20 foreign ministers with high efficiency, which embodies Indonesia's leadership in hosting major global events and events and organizing such important meetings within the framework of its pivotal role in promoting international cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals worldwide.

His Highness expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the countries participating in the G20 meetings and their cooperation, which embodies the commitment to work together to forge a brighter future based on constructive international cooperation in facing the most pressing challenges, stressing the UAE's support for Indonesia's efforts aimed at consolidating and enhancing the achievements of the G20.

The foreign ministers meeting of the Group of Twenty discussed the areas proposed by Indonesia to achieve tangible and effective cooperation within the group, which this year adopts the slogan: "Recovering together, recovering stronger" to enhance cooperation in facing global challenges.

Indonesia had presented its main priorities to the upcoming CENOC summit in October 2022 which include "universal health management, digital-based economic transformation, and transition to sustainable energy".

The participation of the UAE in the Group of Twenty comes at the invitation of the Republic of Indonesia, and this participation is subject to the supervision of the Steering Committee of the Group of Twenty, headed by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the membership of the relevant government agencies, while a technical committee was activated to coordinate the efforts of the national entities participating in the group.

The UAE is expected to participate in more than 150 meetings of the Group of Twenty during the period leading up to the G20 summit scheduled for October 2022.
