A fire ravaged a pigsty in Lamballe-Armor (Côtes-d'Armor) on Thursday at the end of the afternoon.
The 1,400 piglets and 230 sows on the farm were killed in the flames.
The pigs were in two of the company's buildings, with a total area of 1,600 m2, completely destroyed by fire, says

A malfunction in the site's electrical system is believed to be the cause of the fire.
Forty firefighters from several surrounding barracks were dispatched to the scene.
It took them an hour and a half to put out the flames.
Important ways to fight fire
The firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading to the other buildings on the farm.
They then extinguished the fire and prevented its return.
