Yemen.. Gulf welcome to prove the armistice, and militias evade implementing their entitlements

Local sources in the Yemeni governorate of Taiz confirmed that the Houthi terrorist militia has begun the process of opening secondary roads, according to its vision, north of the city, as part of its evasion once again from implementing the entitlements of the truce, while the government delegation to Jordan's consultations on opening roads and crossings renewed its rejection of the Houthi trend that does not serve the besieged from The sons of Taiz.

The process of opening roads by the Houthis coincided with the announcement by the office of the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, that the two sides agreed to establish the UN truce, reduce daily violations, and establish a joint operations room to monitor violations, especially during the Eid al-Adha holiday.

And local sources reported that the recent Houthi trend regarding the implementation of its vision and the opening of a new road between the "Sixty and the Fifty Streets", northwest of the city, serves the Houthi military orientation, aimed at reaching the air defense camp and the old airport.

The militias had announced a unilateral initiative to open a secondary road to the city of Taiz, confirming their total refusal to open a main road to the besieged city for the eighth year in a row.

Meanwhile, the Gulf Cooperation Council welcomed the agreement to establish the armistice in Yemen. The Secretary-General of the Council, Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, said that the agreement of the Yemeni parties to establish the armistice on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha will result in continuing to create the atmosphere to start the political process and reach a comprehensive peace.

For its part, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced its welcome to the agreement to establish the armistice in the sisterly Republic of Yemen, and stressed the importance of opening the humanitarian crossings in Taiz.

A statement by the Saudi Foreign Ministry stated that this comes as a result of the efforts of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, in strengthening commitment to the current UN-sponsored truce.

On the ground, the Houthi militias continued to violate the armistice despite the recent agreement in the Jordanian capital regarding stopping the violations. The Yemeni army announced the martyrdom of one of its military leaders on the Sirwah front in the Marib governorate, while the forces responded to a Houthi attack on their positions on the western front of the governorate.

The media center of the Yemeni army said that Lieutenant-Colonel Hamid Ali Al-Najjar, Chief of Staff of the 3rd Battalion in the 310th Armored Brigade, was martyred during battles with the Houthis who tried to advance towards the army's positions on the fronts of the Serwah district, west of Ma'rib.

The center stated that it had monitored 93 violations of the UN armistice on the fronts of Hodeidah, Taiz, Al-Dhalea, Hajjah, Saada, Al-Jawf and Marib, which resulted in the injury of two army forces and the death of Lieutenant-Colonel Al-Najjar.

In addition, a member of the Presidency Council, Major General Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, called on the "leaders of the Ministry of Defense" to mobilize efforts during the current stage, which requires the vigilance of all to confront the common enemy represented by the terrorist Houthi militia and its sectarian project.

During a meeting led by the Ministry of Defense, he stressed the need to adhere to the utmost restraint in respect of the UN armistice, while raising the level of operational coordination between the various brigades, units and military axes to deal firmly with Houthi violations and curb their aggressive behavior.

On the other hand, a civilian and a woman were injured by the explosion of mines planted by militias in Al-Hudaydah and Al-Jawf governorates, while a human rights report issued by the Human Rights Office in Al-Jawf governorate monitored the militias committing 3,095 violations in Al-Jawf since the beginning of this year.

In Sana’a, Al-Sabeen Square, the largest square in the capital, witnessed a tribal sit-in, the first of its kind in years, against the Houthi militia, against the background of its smuggling a death sentence prisoner from a prison, according to local sources, referring to an armed sit-in by the tribes of Bani Dabyan of the Khawlan Directorate in Sana’a. It is one of the most armed Yemeni tribes, to demand the arrest of a prisoner convicted of premeditated murder and sentenced to death.

In Al-Dhalea, the leadership of the local authority in the governorate announced the opening of the road linking Al-Dhalea - Damt - Sana'a, and the Qataba - Al-Fakher - Ibb road, at a unilateral initiative, calling on the Houthi militias to respond to the initiative in implementation of the terms of the UN armistice, in order to alleviate the suffering of civilians, and facilitate Transportation of passengers and goods.

The leadership of the local authority in Al-Dhalea confirmed that it and the joint forces and the southern resistance took the initiative today to open the roads from its side, and that the ball is now in the court of the Houthi militia, which must take the initiative and open the roads to commercial traffic, traffic and the movement of travelers.
