  • Church "Very strange movements and economic irregularities" in the brotherhood of the Great Power and the Macarena

The ordeal of the Prosecutor of the brotherhood of the Great Power and the Macarena began when he received a complaint about the alleged corruption of the Governing Board.

A former member of the management, after having exhausted all possible avenues without being attended to, submitted a letter exposing the alleged irregularities observed in the performance of his duties on the Board.

"It described the management of the donations", which this supplement already reported, "and other irregularities. I received, in addition to the explanation, several documents that accredited the facts.

Among them, certificates from the Treasury

", explains the sister who occupied the position of Prosecutor between June 2021 and March of this year, after being dismissed for attending to this internal complaint.

He prefers to hide his name.

"Because of my work, I can't expose myself too much. Besides, my name doesn't matter.

I care about the brotherhood and its owners

," explains C. When presenting the complaint during the celebration of a town hall,

Luis Rafael García Martínez

, the older brother for 25 years, "he became like a beast. He and the rest of the brothers of the Board of Directors did not listen to reasons.

Without even having considered the complaint, they decided to vote my dismissal by show of hands

. "

Twelve board members out of 15 voted in favor of expulsion.

"From then on, a persecution began. To the point that they even threatened me."

The trusted directors of Luis Rafael García Martínez closed ranks around the older brother.

"In front of several witnesses, the first chaplain,"

Julián Cruz

, friend and right-hand man of the older brother,

"said that these things were solved by splitting my head open with a stick

. "

"Unacceptable conduct"

His job as prosecutor "was to enforce the rules of the brotherhood."

This is established by rule 57 of the Great Power and the Macarena: "Ensure exact compliance with the Rules and Regulations of the Internal Regime."

Among other functions, it is contemplated "informing the Governing Board about the sanctions to be applied", in case of detecting any irregularity,

and "reviewing the brotherhood's accounting monthly".

A few months earlier, C. had received another complaint.

"It was a minor matter that came up at a meeting of costaleros. They didn't let me act."

After being fired, she received a letter signed by her older brother in which "the truth is twisted. They always do the same thing.

They act and recreate an unofficial version that has nothing to do with the truth

."

As can be read in the letter, the sudden dismissal of C. is justified by "unacceptable conduct and exceeding the powers of her position."

There was also a private meeting between the dismissed Prosecutor and part of the Governing Board.

"They reproached me, as in the letter, for having positioned myself against them.

I never took sides. I just limited myself to transferring the information that they had sent me. They threatened me again, this time with complaints, if I did not retract.

'You will

going to have a very bad time', they even told me

", he details.

"You have a bad time"

C. the bad drink has not yet passed.

"They scared me. I'm not the first to have suffered this type of attitude from Luis Rafael and the people he trusts. Many of the brothers have decided not to have anything to do with the brotherhood.

If you're not on their rope, you have a bad time There is much less turnout than before."

In the dismissal letter, the older brother reproaches C. for not having attended the meeting he held with the current parish priest of the Collegiate Church of San Isidro, Ángel Luis Miralles, one day before making the dismissal official.

"They think I ran away.

I was traveling and they informed me later. They always distort the truth."

Susana María Molina

, a magistrate of the Superior Court of Justice of the Community of Madrid, who held the position of lieutenant of the older brother, and Juan Antonio Jiménez, a former mayordomo,

also participated in the persecution of C.

On Monday, both presented their resignation to a Council of Officials in which they discussed, as this newspaper has learned from different sources close to the brotherhood, the information published by GRAN MADRID.

"They were the first ones who did not let me act and then they maintained the same attitude as the older brother.

They insisted that I retract when all I had done was fulfill my duties."
