The Strömsund Bridge has been closed in stages for renovation.

The idea was that it would be closed during Strömsund's Dundermarknad, but due to security reasons it will be kept open.

To compensate for the lost time, the bridge closes instead the whole week 28, at the same time as several horse carriages from the south go to Hotingtravet.

- The wish would be that you could postpone the job to be done during the week, but I understand that it is a big job to be done.

The worst thing that can happen is that a crew goes off the detour and tips and hurts, says Sven-Olof Lindman.

"If you drive calmly, it goes well"

During the closure, traffic will be diverted via Hallviken, which has been upgraded with 28 meeting places, signage and new material on the road.

According to John Löfgren, project manager at the Swedish Transport Administration, it is possible to drive that road if you take it easy.

- If you drive calmly and quietly, it will go well.

At an early stage, we told the organizer that anyone who feels unsafe to take the detour can drive via Ramsele instead.

That way is better, says John Löfgren.

Could you have waited with the closing until after the trot?

- We are so time-pressed this year, so it is not possible.

Unfortunately, sometimes we have to close, says John Löfgren.
