In 2019, a report was made that a minor girl had been exposed to sex crimes online the year before.

When the man from northwest Skåne was identified, his computer was seized and during the investigation more victims were discovered and in the autumn of 2020 he was arrested.

When he was prosecuted in March this year, the number of plaintiffs was up to 42 and in total there are over 140 cases of various types of sex crimes such as rape of children, sexual abuse of children, sexual posing and sexual harassment.

The man is now sentenced at Helsingborg District Court to seven years in prison.

Sacrifice at the age of ten

The man is said to have contacted underage girls on social media, some as young as ten years old, and pretended to be a girl of the same age.

- When the relationship has turned into a sexual one, he has asked the plaintiff to perform sexual acts on himself, to document this and send it to him.

The plaintiffs have done this because they did not know that they communicated with a man, prosecutor Linda Seger has previously told SVT Nyheter.

Must pay millions in damages

In order to identify the girls, the police have initiated international cooperation.

The man is also convicted of a serious child pornography offense and is said to have had almost 900 films and over 200 child pornographic images.

He will pay a total of approximately SEK 2.8 million in damages to the children, all of whom were aged 10-17.

Initially, the man denied the crime but has since admitted most of the acts.
