Interest rate increases, high supply and rising living costs continue to characterize the housing market.

In June, housing prices fell throughout the country, condominiums by three percent and villas by one percent.

The Stockholm region accounts for the largest fluctuations.

During the month of June, condominium prices fell by three percent, which can be compared with Malmö and Gothenburg, which fell by one percent and two percent, respectively.

- The price level is so much higher in Stockholm than in Malmö, so three percent in Stockholm corresponds in kronor that Malmö goes down 9 percent, such a big difference is in the decline, says Hans Flink, Business Development Manager at Swedish broker statistics.

Hans Flink sees striking similarities when he compares the first half of the year with the broad decline in the housing market in the autumn of 2017. Hear more about it in the video below.

The average villa down SEK 800,000 in five months

In the last three months, house prices have had a negative price development in 18 of the region's 26 municipalities.

Only four municipalities have a positive development, while the other four have too few sales to be able to report statistics.

House prices have fallen the most in Salem municipality by 10.4 per cent.

Followed by Värmdö and Sollentuna with 6.1 percent and 5.4 percent, respectively.

In five months, the average price of a villa in Stockholm County has fallen by SEK 800,000, to today cost SEK 6,981,000.
